Halloween

This past weekend, 100 kids and their families trick or treated at Venice Garden. 👻Thank you to the host houses that made for another successful Halloween event!
Clothes Swap
Friday 18th October
A wonderful time was had at WIC’s first clothes swap on Friday, with members turning taobao tragedies into others treasures! A big thank you to the AICC Community Center for hosting us, providing some great food and a lovely atmosphere and @emily_travelling for initiating this wonderful event. A super successful evening, we’re looking forward to many more in the future!
Introductory Chinese Painting Class

Members shared a wonderful pot luck lunch together yesterday, tasting delicious cuisines from all over the world. Lovely to see so many familiar faces and new ones also. We’re looking forward to making this a regular event!

WIC Welcome Drinks @Wineloft

Members had a wonderful time Saturday night at WIC welcome drinks at Wineloft. A magnificent mix of nationalities came together in this incredible space to create an electric atmosphere. With an abundance of delicious wine, food and awesome music it made for a very memorable evening.
Welcome Back BBQ

WIC Masquerade Ball

Great formal event this weekend at WIC’s Masquerade Ball held at the Holiday Inn in Binhu 😄 Over 100 people enjoyed the festivities with great food and drinks, a kids club, dancing, and a raffle and prizes for the best masks
Book talk and signing with Antonella Moretti
Thursday 23rd May
WIC members spent a wonderful day with author Antonella Moretti, discussing the experiences of the three expat Italian women featured in her book. A great read for anyone who has spent time in China or wants to know more about the life.
Orphanage Visit
Tuesday 21st May
Members had a wonderful time at a local orphanage where WIC regularly donates too. The children were so well cared for and the facilities were outstanding. These children have all been abandoned and will spend their entire childhood here. The centre catered for the children’s physical needs, educational, social and emotional helping them integrate into society when they leave. Some of these children have also been adopted by American families and are now living happily in the States.
Open Mic Night

WIC’s second open mic night was wonderful on Saturday with members’ children showcasing their talents. Attendees also got full use of the centres facilities as well as a scrumptious dinner. We can’t wait for the next one!
Kids Yoga

Kids yoga was a great success! It was a full house with yoga teacher Babs adapting yoga styles to suit younger participants. We are hoping to make this a regualr event as it was so popular! Stayed tuned for more updates!
Bollywood night

Wuxi International Club’s Bollywood night was a phenomenal success on Saturday. Over 100 of the Wuxi expat community came together to enjoy incredible views, drink and dance the night away at one of Wuxi‘s most prestigious venues, Soul Bar, located on top of Hotel Nikko. All who attended had an incredible time; the Indian community sure know how to party! We are so excited to be planning our next big event already, The Summer Ball, a masquerade ball on June 15th! Easter Brunch and Egg Decoration

Open Mic Night

Families continued the festivities by attending WIC’s first Open Mic Night. Members came to show off and share their talents among friends. A fantastic time was had by all!
Easter Egg Hunt

Members and their families had a terrific time at WIC’s annual Egg Hunt. This event is one of the club’s calendar highlights and this year it involved 75 children working together to find their eggs. The event also included games and finished with a picnic. Big thank you to our members who donated generously to raise money for a local orphanage.
Coffee morning

Members spent a lovely morning chatting, eating and drinking coffee at the new Starbucks Reserve on Nanchang Jie. Lovely place, highly recommend it for future meet-ups.

Japanese Spa day, Binhu

Members enjoyed spending the day unwinding at a Japanese Spa in Binhu. The kids were throughly entertained meaning parents could relax this holiday. Happy Qing Ming festival everyone!
High Tea at the Holiday Inn

A wonderful afternoon was spent at the Holiday Inn, Binhu sampling their high tea menu. The experience was very much enjoyed by all members, old and new, so much so we are hoping to make it a regular fixture in the WIC calendar!
HAPPY HOLI!

Members enjoyed celebrating Holi - the festival of colours downtown at Ganesh restaurant. The day included a delicious Indian buffet, free flow drinks, colour throwing and a lot of dancing. All who attended had a wonderful time and we can’t wait for our Bollywood night at the end of April!
Strawberry picking

Members spent a wonderful morning strawberry picking at Leo’s farm. This is a great activity for the kids and a definite highlight on Wuxi International Club’s calendar!
Bowling Night!

Members spent a wonderful evening bowling at Wuxi’s local bowling alley. Amateurs and experts joined forces and enjoyed 10¥ beers whilst hitting strikes, spares or the gutter!

Chinese knot activity at Yuya

Sushi making at Tanoshi Sushi organised by one of our members. Participants enjoyed sampling and making many different types of sushi using an assortment of ingredients. WIC members receive a 10% discount at Tanoshi Sushi from January, sign up with Angie (wechat: angierich73) now for membership.
Winter Bazaar

Thanks to all who stopped by the WIC tables at the Wuxi’s first Winter Bazaar. Our members worked very hard to produce Christmas wreaths, cards, soup, roasted cashew nuts, chocolate brownies, cookies, Turkish coffee, cinnamon rolls, rice pudding and mulled wine. The day was a great success and we hope it will turn into an annual event in Wuxi.

Wonderful lunch at Mammamia with members making their own pizzas. Great hospitality as always and a marvellous meal was had by all! This is another venue members can receive a discount of 15% if they sign up for 2019 membership.
WIC Christmas Party

A wonderful night was had by all at the WIC Christmas Party. This is the biggest event in the Wuxi International Club’s calendar and the night did not disappoint. Fabulous food, marvellous music and wonderful people made for a fantastic night. A huge thanks goes to the Crown Plaza for hosting the event and the WIC committee members for all their hard work in making sure the holiday season got off to a sensational start.
Wuxi International Club Annual General Meeting

Wuxi International Club’s annual meeting was held at the Ascott Hotel, Wuxi on Thursday 23rd November. Members gathered to hear a summary of events held by the club in 2018 and to hear about new and exiting ventures in 2019, including some phenomenal discounts at many local restaurants and attractions in Wuxi. To support this, the WIC membership card will be launched in 2019 and is available now for anyone who signs up for 2019 membership at the remarkable price of ¥200 a year. Wuxi International Club is a non-profit volunteer organisation that endeavours to also work with local charities.
